Guzman was appointed to the Texas Supreme Court by then-Gov. Rick Perry in 2009 and elected to a full term in 2010. Previously, she served as an associate justice on the Houston-based 14th Court of Appeals and as a trial court judge on the 309th Family District Court. Guzman also serves as the court’s liaison to the Commission on Judicial Conduct.
